COVID-19 Measures
LUNCH begins at 12:00pm. Lunches are on a first-come, first-served basis.
DINNER begins at 4:00pm. Reservations are preferred and highly recommended.

Queen’s Pasta Cafe has two levels for indoor dining, and cannot guarantee which floor your reservation will be.
If there are limitations, please let us know when you are making a reservation and the staff will try their best to accommodate you. Please note, we do not have a washroom on the main floor.
Groups of six or more guests may be asked to give credit card information to hold a table. We ask for a credit card to guarantee a call if there is any change to the reservation or cancellation with sufficient notice.
Queen’s Pasta Cafe has implemented the following health and safety measures to help protect employees, customers and the general public from Covid-19.

Any Employee/Contractor returning from travel outside of Canada will not be allowed to enter the restaurant and will be required to self-isolate for 5 days from the day of return.

Employees/Contractors must wash their hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water when they arrive to the restaurant and before using their workstations.

Hand washing instructions and information related to COVID-19 have been posted in different areas of the establishment.

Employee Screening/Monitoring: A designated employee will screen employees before and during shifts for COVID-19 symptoms (body temperature – max. 37.6°C, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath, vomiting, frequent trips to the bathroom). If an employee shows any of these symptoms, he/she will be asked to go home immediately and complete the on-line self-assessment provided by the Government of Ontario here or call either Telehealth (1-866-797-0000) or their primary care provider (e.g. family physician) for instructions. Employee screening is documented.

Physical Distance: Due to the nature of the business, recommended distancing of employees of 6 feet (2 m) is not possible. However, ALL employees must wear a face mask and disposable gloves at all times except during lunch and breaktimes. Physical distance of 2 meters must be followed during lunch and breaktimes. Signage has been posted in different areas of the establishment regarding physical distance.

Cleaning and Sanitation: Cleaning and sanitation of equipment and areas is conducted as per regular procedures. In addition, offices, lunchroom and welfare areas with special focus on common contact surfaces (e.g. doorknobs, counters, kitchen equipment, light switches, washrooms sinks, etc.) are being sanitized three times per day (before and after breaks and after lunch time). Office personnel sanitize their desks, computer keyboard, mouse, stapler, etc. before starting work and during working hours.

Illness Response Procedure – COVID-19 specific: When notification has been received (either by the employee or by public health unit) that an employee has tested positive for COVID-19, the following steps will be taken: The employee will not be permitted to return to work for at least 5 days and until deemed healthy (all clear) by public health; Management will notify Toronto Public Health of the positive employee and request their assistance in determining the risk to employees who work at the restaurant; If the public health authority is not able to provide assistance in determining the risk to other employees, management will seek the support of other expert advice (e.g. Occupational Health and Safety professional or provincial/industry working groups to develop remediation plans, including ensuring appropriate action to be taken with individual potentially exposed to the COVID-19 positive employee; Queen’s Pasta Cafe will follow public health authorities’ recommendations relating actions taken. Senior management must protect the employee’s personal information, including medical information.
